SSYC Junior Sailing Staff & Instructors

 

SSYC offers classes for beginners, intermediates, advanced and tactics sailors. Boats used in our program include Optimists, Blue Jays, 420's and Lasers.

Our instructors are at a minimum US Sailing Level 1 certified - and all have years of experience in many classes of boats and with all ages of sailors - from beginners to advanced and on up to advanced racing. Brian H. returns as our Head Instructor in 2008, along with a number of our 2007 staff.

A big shout out to the SSYC 2006 Optimist Team Coach Sarah Mergenthaler and her skipper Amanda Clark who will represent the United States in China at the 2008 Olympics sailing in the 470 Woman's fleet. Here's Amanda and Sarah (out on the trap) just after securing their Olympic berth. Sarah will be back with us this summer and is running two Junior clinics in May and July.
