Comets Shine on the Shrewsbury; Ingrams Repeat as NA Champs
On the weekend of June 21-22 many top sailors gathered at SSYC to participate in the 2008 Comet North American Championships. Sailors from SSYC Comet Fleet #35 made a great showing as did several other sailors from Maryland and as far as Bermuda.
SSYC Vice Commodore Leighton Waters welcomed regatta participants along with Comet Class Association President Wick Dudley who provided a brief and upbeat State of the Union on the Association. Read the Entire Article Here More photos below! Comet Results
Member Leif Sigmond & US Team Place 3rd in 2008 Patent Cup in Venice
Co-skippers and patent attorneys, Leif Sigmond, Jr., a partner at McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP, and Gary M. Ropski, president of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, brought in a third place victory for their USA team when they crossed the finish line in the Patent Cup Regatta held in Venice, Italy, off of Lido Island in the Adriatic Sea. "Representing the United States in this international regatta was an honor for our whole team," said Sigmond. Read the entire release here
