2010 Adult Sailing Lessons
"Life
goes by pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in
a while, you could miss it." - Ferris Bueller
It's again a new year and a new opportunity to take up the great sport of sailing. Grew up sailing and need a refresher? I think we might be able to help. Adult lessons start in June and from what the web bosun has seen over the years, he thinks you'll have a great time, meet some great folks and witness some remarkable sunsets. Got a friend? Bring them along. Not a member? That's not a problem - we welcome you to come on down and participate. So what's the skinny on the lessons?
Lessons will be on Tuesdays 6:15-dusk for 8 weeks beginning June 15th. Wednesdays are reserved for make up lessons in the event of thunderstorms, no breeze, etc.

Frequently Asked Question (FAQs)
Do I need a Life Jacket? Yes, preferably one that fits and is comfortable. Borrow one from a friend. A vest is best. Square orange ones out of a Sponge Bob episode are discouraged - essentially because they don't look good on fashion conscious adults.
What do I wear? Vineyard Vines is nice but shorts and a tee shirt work better with a small bag that includes jeans, a jacket and rain gear if it's cool. Bring a change of clothes. Really.
Do I need a change of clothes? Bet you think we're being funny but seriously, folks ask and don't bring one - keep it in your car.
What do I wear on my feet? Sneakers or boat shoes are a must. TEVAs are OK, Flip flops and sandals are discouraged - bare feet are baaaaad!
What time do we start? Seriously, we try to start at 6:15 PM. If you want to come early and help rig boats after day one, great.
Will I get wet? Maybe. Maybe not. It all depends on if you pay attention ;-) (Odds are 99% your feet will get wet).
Other stuff I need? Maybe an ecologically friendly bottle of H20, sun screen, bug spray (if there's little wind) and sunglasses with a Croakie so they stay out of the river.
