Running these races involves Principal Race Officers (PROs), mark boat operators, safety boat operators and in the case of special events, shore-side support. With the continued, volunteer support of our members we run one of the most active race programs on the east coast with over 100 races sailed each year!
This racing program does not work without the dedicated help of our members. Helping out on race committee is a great opportunity to get out on the water and see what this sport is all about.
If you are a veteran, we would like to see you on the Mary Patten as PRO. If you sail but don’t know much about racing, we have opportunities to observe and learn by helping out on the rescue and mark boats. If you are altogether new to sailing or a parent of a junior sailor, helping keep score on the finish boat is a great introduction to the sport and lets you see what the attraction is for your son or daughter. Interested in helping make this program the best it can be?
